Share your perspective: your view on D&I
Equitable opportunities and respect, what’s your experience within KLM?
KLM believes it's important that you feel comfortable and respected. That your unique differences are valued and respected, ensuring everyone at KLM has equitable opportunities. This way, we create a healthy and safe corporate culture that enables us to deliver even better results together.
To gain a clear picture of our performance and identify areas for improvement,a survey was sent out on April 3rd.
On this page you can read more about the survey, about your participation or about the processing of personal data in this survey. If your question is not answered, please send an email to Share.your.perspective@klm.com
With the outcome of the survey, KLM can look at how we can further promote a healthy corporate culture. KLM believes it is important that all employees feel comfortable and respected. One of the aims of this survey is to use the information gathered to continue the conversation about how we deal with diversity, inclusion and equity within KLM. With your input, we can pinpoint areas for improvement and take targeted action where it's most needed.
The personal link in the email will take you to the survey. Completing the survey will take approximately fifteen minutes of your time.
You can complete the survey until Thursday 24th of April.
Participation is entirely voluntary, which means you are free to respond or not. We would appreciate your participation in this survey. The more colleagues who take part, the clearer our overall picture will be. Your participation remains anonymous. An external, independent research agency, Ipsos, will analyse the anonymised results, and the outcome will only be reported at business unit level—never at team or individual level.
This survey is sent to all colleagues working in the Netherlands with a KLM or KLC contract.
A diverse and inclusive work environment is important for everyone who works at KLM. Our world is big, but we are starting in the Netherlands to first get a good picture of how KLM employees in the Netherlands experience their work environment. External colleagues and colleagues abroad and at subsidiaries will not receive the survey. However, they will be involved in promoting diversity and inclusion within KLM based on the insights obtained from the survey. Air France colleagues from the joint organisation will also not receive a survey at this time, although this may come at a later date.
You all work in different roles at KLM—in the air or on the ground, in the office or operations, in rotating shifts or daytime schedules. Everyone will receive the same set of questions, so we kindly ask you to adapt the questions to your specific work context and environment where necessary.
- KLM will collect survey responses using the secure systems of Qualtrics, an independent survey processing company with which we have a contract. Qualtrics will anonymise all collected data before sharing it with both KLM and Ipsos. Ipsos is an external independent research firm that will analyse the anonymised results.
- KLM or KLM Cityhopper is responsible for processing your personal data, depending on which entity is your employer. However, the conduct of the study is being carried out by KLM. KLM processes your personal data in accordance with privacy legislation and takes appropriate measures to protect your personal data. We advise you of the following:

- Some questions focus on sensitive topics such as health, ethnicity, religion and orientation. The results of this survey are anonymized and are only reported at the level of the various business units, never at the team or individual level.
- If you choose to complete the questionnaire, the answers will be collected by Qualtrics. They link your answers to certain personnel administration data, which KLM and KLM Cityhopper have shared with them in advance, to make sure the results are linked to the right division. At the start of the survey, KLM requests your explicit consent to process your personal data. You give consent by checking the box. If you do not complete the survey or fail to click on “send”, your answers will not be included in the analysis.

A D&I (Diversity and Inclusion) survey was first sent to KLM employees in 2021. D&I is a vital part of our corporate culture, one that values mutual respect, embraces differences, and recognises their added value for KLM. Together with your colleagues, you play a key role in shaping this culture.
Parts of the 2021 survey are included in the 2025 survey, allowing us to track progress, identify improvements, and highlight areas that need more attention. In addition, we have now also included a section on equity and receiving equal opportunities within KLM. We have included more questions so that we can take even more targeted actions for each business unit.
We distinguish between results at KLM-wide level, divisional level and business unit level (with a minimum of 20 respondents). We expect to share results at different levels within two months after the survey closes. KLM-wide results will be shared with all KLM employees via the KLM NewsApp. Divisional results will be shared via divisional management teams.
You can send an email to KLM Share your perspective.
You can find more information on the D&I Sharepoint page. On this page, you will find an overview of all D&I Leads. You can also contact them for questions regarding D&I.
